Job summary

The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor in Southern California, is seeking a CNC Machinist III to set up and operate CNC Mill and Lathe machines for aircraft/military components on a 100% onsite basis.

Responsibilities include lean manufacturing support, 5-axis programming/editing, fixture/tooling design input, and ERP data entry while maintaining strict safety standards and quality. Onsite qualification and English fluency required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience in 3-4-5 axis.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to read blueprints and inspect parts.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds and wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Mill and Lathe for aircraft/military components.
• Emphasize safety first during all operations.
• Work with 5-axis equipment and lights-out machining focus.
• Edit in MDI; Mazak/Okuma/Fanuc/Siemens controllers.
• Set up tools and prove out CNC programs.
• Record labor hours and production in ERP accurately.
• Collaborate with Leads for process improvements.
• Perform standard shop computations (dimensions, speeds/feeds).
• Apply lean, Kaizen, and 6S principles.
• Maintain daily housekeeping and a can-do attitude.

SCOPE

The CNC Machinist III will be responsible for set up and operations of CNC Mill and Lathe machines used in Manufacturing and Fabrication of aircraft/ military components.

Responsibilities

• Strong focus on SAFETY FIRST.
• Able to use the latest technology in 5 axis with focus on “Lights out machining” (Probing / Break detection,…)
• Knowledge of fixturing and tooling design.
• Editing in MDI , preferred with Mazak, Okuma,Fanuc, Siemens controllers.
• Set‑up tools and prove out CNC programs as needed.
• Strong comunication skills , wear PPE at all times.
• Utilize ERP system to accurately record labor hours and production quantity.
• Suggests recommendations to Leads/Supervisor concerning process improvements.
• Perform standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds and feeds of machining.
• Understanding of lean , Kaizen and 6S concepts.
• Performs routine daily maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Can do attitude , continuous improvement.

Skills / Requirements

• Is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
• Must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds to chest level.
• Occasionally must lift up to 25 pounds over the head.
• Ability to hear.
• Ability to use inspection instruments.
• Blueprint reading.
• Must be able to speak/read/write English.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Safety Shoes and Safety Glasses required at all times.
• Must have 5+ years experience in CNC Machining 3-4-5 axis , CNC Programming background preferred.
• Must have a Highschool Diploma or G.E.D equivalent
