Arnold Magnetic Technologies Corporation in Greenville, OH is seeking a CNC Machinist III for 2nd shift to train, set up and operate CNC machines and grinders, producing precision parts.

You will read blueprints, set tools, load programs, perform first-article inspections, and troubleshoot during initial runs with emphasis on safety and quality.

Requires 3–5 years CNC experience, GD&T knowledge, blueprint reading, and familiarity with Fanuc or Mazak controls; technical training preferred.

Qualificações

  • High school diploma or GED; technical training, trade schooling, or a machining apprenticeship preferred
  • 3–5 years CNC machining and setup experience, including multi-axis machine knowledge
  • Strong ability to read complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T
  • Proficiency with common machine controls (Fanuc or Mazak) to edit programs and troubleshoot errors
  • Solid background in shop math, geometry, and precision measurement tools
  • Willingness to pursue 1st responder training and certification
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Understanding of safety, health, and environmental best practices
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal) to all levels of the organization
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
  • Mechanical aptitude and curiosity for technical information
  • Enjoy solving problems and thinking creatively

Responsabilidades

  • Train and support setup and operation of CNC and manual machine tools, including grinders
  • Read blueprints, setup sheets, and work orders to determine manufacturing sequences and control settings
  • Select, install, align, and secure cutting tools, attachments, and work-holding devices onto machines
  • Load or select CNC programs, input tool/work offsets, and adjust feed rates and speeds
  • Perform dry runs or first-article inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Monitor initial production cycles, correct out-of-tolerance sequences, and resolve issues
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance
  • Hand off running machines to operators and monitor early production runs for safety and quality
  • Operate CNC equipment as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Job purpose

A CNC Machinist III is responsible for training, setup, and operating as needed, CNC machining and grinding processes. Their duties include training new employees how to safely setup and operate equipment effectively, setup idle equipment so it is already ready, troubleshoot problems machinists have, and run production as needed.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support all employee training in setup and operation of CNC and manual machine tools, including grinders, as assigned by Team Leader/Supervisor.
  • Machine Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work orders to determine manufacturing sequences and control settings.
  • Tooling & Fixtures: Select, install, align, and secure cutting tools, attachments, and work-holding devices onto machines.
  • Programming & Parameters: Load or select CNC programs, input tool/work offsets, and adjust feed rates and speeds.
  • Testing & Inspection: Perform dry runs or first-article inspections using precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Troubleshooting & Adjustments: Monitor initial production cycles, correct out-of-tolerance sequences, and resolve mechanical or processing issues.
  • Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine equipment cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance while adhering to shop safety protocols.
  • Hand off smoothly running machines to operators and monitor initial production runs for safety and quality.
  • Operate CNC equipment as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; technical training, trade schooling, or a machining apprenticeship is strongly preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of CNC machining and setup experience, often including multi-axis (4- or 5-axis) machine knowledge.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong ability to read complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
  • Control Familiarity: Proficiency with common machine controls (such as Fanuc or Mazak) to edit programs and troubleshoot errors.
  • Math & Measurement: Solid background in shop math, geometry, and precision measurement tools.
  • Prefer 1 st responder training and certification (willing to acquire if not yet certified)
  • Prefer effective use of Microsoft Tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of company policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of safety, health, and environmental best practices.
  • Strong communication skills (written/verbal) to all levels of the organization, good listener.
  • Have good hand-eye coordination.
  • Pay attention to details and neatness.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Enjoy researching technical information.

Working conditions

  • Standard work week is Monday-Thursday, 4-10 HR shifts, 2:30 pm - 1:00 am, half hour unpaid lunch , any overtime required scheduled on Friday
  • Generally working in production environment.

Physical requirements

  • Sitting and/or working at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
