Job summary

Metron Machining is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist III to own complete setups and execute complex precision work in an aerospace and defense environment. This role involves 5-axis capabilities and challenging manufacturing tasks in a high-mix shop.

Pay is up to $40/hr DOE with a 2nd shift (Mon–Thu, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM), offering four 10-hour shifts. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, PTO, paid holidays, and safety footwear allowances.

Qualifications

• Strong CNC milling setup and operation experience.
• Independently handle complex setups.
• Multi-axis or 5-axis milling experience preferred.
• Aerospace, defense, or tight-tolerance machining experience preferred.
• Strong blueprint, GD&T, and precision inspection skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete CNC mill setups from start to finish.
• Set tooling, fixtures, workholding, and offsets.
• Work with multi-axis and 5-axis CNC mills.
• Produce and inspect first articles.
• Adjust speeds, feeds, offsets, and machining parameters; troubleshoot chatter, tool wear, dimensional issues, and finish problems.
• Read complex blueprints and GD&T.
• Perform in-process inspection.

We’re looking for an experienced CNC Milling Machinist III who can take ownership of complete setups and complex precision work.

This is not an operator-only position. You’ll work on challenging aerospace and defense components in a high-mix precision machining environment.

Pay: Up to $40/hr DOE

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM. Four 10-hour shifts.

What You’ll Do:

• Complete CNC mill setups from start to finish
• Set tooling, fixtures, workholding, and offsets
• Work with multi-axis and 5-axis CNC mills
• Produce and inspect first articles

What We’re Looking For:
