Job summary

Bettcher Industries, located in Ohio, seeks a Machinist II to run CNC machines with minimal supervision and make minor tool offsets. The role collaborates with a senior Machinist for major adjustments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

You will read work instructions, inspect parts to tolerances, interpret blueprints and GD&T, and report production results while following safety and procedural standards. This position supports multiple machines in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred 3 years of experience in manufacturing machining / vocational schooling
• Must be able to troubleshoot equipment & identify tooling issues such as worn tooling and tool holders.
• Must meet all the qualification standards requirements of previous level.

Responsibilities

• Observes operation of CNC machine(s) and verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications and tolerances; visually inspects parts for non-conformance.
• Reads and interprets work instructions for product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
• Follows standard operating production procedures and work instructions; performs tasks in proper sequence.
• Reads and interprets measuring devices to ensure quality standards; may troubleshoot or consult with senior machinist/quality/supervisor.
• Interprets CNC program: units of measure, positioning system, tools, spindle speeds, feed rates, canned cycles, coolant use, axis movements, end-of-program code.
• Performs preventative maintenance checks and reports issues (fluid levels, lubrication, wear).
• Interprets CMM reports and makes necessary offsets; maintains production on multiple machines.
• Accurately report production results (labor time, part counts, status) in production system.
• Other duties as assigned.
