Enpro Inc. is seeking a mid-level CNC Machinist II to perform lathe and mill tasks within a production cell, learn all CNC operations, and support manufacturing across areas as needed.

You will set up simple operations, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet exacting dimensions with 100% quality. The role requires basic CNC programming know-how, safety awareness, and the ability to train new operators while maintaining equipment and documentation per Quality procedures.

Job description

CNC Machinist II is a mid-level position to perform lathe and mill tasks, continue to learn all aspects of CNC operations, the trade and, and, as a part of the Production Team, fill in as needed in other areas in support of manufacturing. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to meet the minimum job requirements of this position. Manufacture parts within a cell with multiple machines to exacting blueprint dimensions and ensure 100%-part quality. Performs simple set-ups on both manual and CNC turning / milling machining centers. Edit CNC programs as necessary to improve the machining process and extend tool life while meeting production rates.

What You'll Do:
  • Performs simple or repeat set-ups and operates equipment to produce high quality parts (100% good pieces) within prescribed routed time to meet production demands. If standard production rates cannot be met, the operator must notify his supervisor.

  • Follows documented set-up sheets according to established procedures.

  • Knowledgeable in basic GD&T and its application relative to part manufacture and inspection.

  • Read and understand drawings to effectively manufacture parts to close tolerances.

  • Maintains equipment via established preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Follows all prescribed quality procedures and inspection plans.

  • Performs 1st piece inspections and monitors own work to meet process requirements including fully documenting inspections reports developed by the Quality department.

  • Verifies that the inspection equipment being utilized is in calibration and performs a simple daily check against a known master to ensure the accuracy of the gage to be used.

  • Maintain safe operations by identifying safety risks and adhering to safety procedures, requirements and regulations. Knowledgeable with tool / insert selection and utilizing the correct feeds and speeds for the materials being machined.

  • Helps train new individuals in basic CNC operations.

  • Any additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Understanding of basic safety standards and workplace policies.

  • Computer literacy, including basic CNC programming experience.

  • Basic tool knowledge and mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, drawings, sketches, and written instructions.

  • Ability to use and interpret precision measuring equipment.

  • Proficiency with manual and CNC machines, including the ability to machine complex components using lathes and/or mills.

  • Ability to conduct set-ups and make offsets for low- to medium-complexity components with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to perform basic shop math.

  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational school equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of machining experience.
  • Trade certification.
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience.
  • Forklift experience and certification.

Enpro carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors including thebackground, education, training,and experience required, as well as geographicconsiderations such as cost of labor, and applicable local andstate laws. These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position istypically $24.31- $36.47per hour. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Bonus,gainshare, and/or equitymay be eligible for this position.Enpro offers a range of benefits including, butnotlimited to medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) matching, and other supplementalinsurance options.
