Belcan Corporation seeks a CNC Machinist II for the Valencia, CA area on 2nd shift. This contract-to-hire role involves aerospace-grade, high-tolerance machining across several CNC platforms, operating equipment, and reducing backlog while ensuring quality from blueprints and first article inspections.

The ideal candidate brings extensive CNC experience on mills, lathes, or Swiss machines and can edit programs, set up jobs, and read complex drawings.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience on mills, lathes, Swiss, Makino, Okuma, Haas, Citizens, or similar equipment.
• Ability to work 2nd shift Monday-Friday, approximately 2:30 PM-10:00 PM.
• Setup, program editing, first article inspection, and blueprint reading capability.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC equipment on 2nd shift; support machine setups.
• Edit CNC programs as needed and adjust machining processes.
• Perform first article/self-inspection and read blueprints to ensure quality.
• Maintain production output in a precision aerospace environment; work from blueprints.

This position is offering a pay range of $26.78 - $40.14/hr. however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Job Responsibilities

The CNC Machinist II will support Client Valencia's fabrication team on 2nd shift, helping reduce delinquent backlog and maintain production output. This role requires a true CNC machinist profile, not a basic machine tender. The machinist will operate CNC equipment, support machine setups, edit programs as needed, adjust machining processes, perform first article/self-inspection, and work from blueprints in a precision aerospace manufacturing environment. Candidates must be comfortable working 2nd shift and contributing quickly in a backlog-driven production setting.

Software/Tools Used

Okuma, Haas, Citizens, Swiss, Makino, lathes, vertical mills, CNC programs/G-code editing, tooling/gauge crib, micrometers, calipers, gauges, first article inspection tools, blueprints, standard shop-floor production documentation.

Top 3 Skills/Must haves

• CNC machining experience on mills, lathes, Swiss, Makino, Okuma, Haas, Citizens, or similar equipment.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

CNC setup experience, first article inspection experience, ability to edit CNC programs, CNC programming experience, aerospace or tight-tolerance machining background, experience with Okuma/Haas/Citizens/Swiss/Makino, ability to troubleshoot machining issues, ability to inspect own work using micrometers/calipers/gauges. Programming is a plus because client is currently without an ME.
