Job summary

TECHSTAFF of AZ is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist II to join our Mesa, AZ manufacturing team. You will set up, operate, and optimize CNC mills and lathes to produce high-precision components in demanding industries.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of precision CNC machining and programming, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues while mentoring junior machinists. Overtime may be available, and on-site work is required in Mesa.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of precision CNC machining and programming.
• Strong experience with CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Experience with Fanuc, Mori Seiki, Haas, and/or Okuma controls preferred.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience machining tight tolerance precision components.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
• Diligence, problem-solving, manual dexterity, safety awareness, and teamwork with a servant leader mindset.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and optimize CNC machining centers to produce precision components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings to machine parts to print.
• Perform first article inspections and verify dimensional accuracy using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues to maximize efficiency.
• Mentor junior machinists and setup personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation and uphold safety procedures.

Job description

Standard Hours:, 4 Tens, 6am – 4:30pm, Monday thru Thursday.

Some overtime available on Fridays as needed, paid at time and a half

Compensation: $27-39 per hour

Experience Required: CNC machining experience, with expertise creating high-precision parts.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist II to join our growing manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing CNC machining centers to produce precision components for demanding industries. Meeting production goals with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate is an initiative-taker with extensive setup experience, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues while mentoring less experienced machinists.

We will be supporting, developing, and mentoring less experienced machinists through the Arizona Tooling and Machining Association, Skill Up program.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical or vocational machine education is preferred.
• 4+ years of precision CNC machining and programming
• Strong experience with CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Experience with Fanuc, Mori Seiki, Haas, and/or Okuma controls preferred.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience machining tight tolerance precision components.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing experience.
