Fairview Hospital / Cleveland Clinic is seeking a CNC Machinist II in Lansing, MI to operate and set up CNC machines for precision parts, following drawings and specifications. You will perform complex machining, change tooling, and make minor adjustments while maintaining quality and GMP/GDP practices.
Safety and record-keeping are essential, and you will support continuous improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED and at least 3 years of CNC experience;
The CNC Machinist II operates and sets up CNC machines to produce precision machined parts, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to work instructions and engineering drawings. Key responsibilities include performing complex machining tasks, changing tooling, making minor adjustments, conducting routine maintenance, and performing hand finishing. The role emphasizes maintaining quality standards, following GMP/GDP practices, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The machinist must record activities accurately, uphold safety procedures, achieve productivity targets, and maintain a clean work environment. Additional duties may include assisting with special projects and escalating manufacturing issues when necessary.
Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree or certification in Tooling & Machining, and experience in a production setting. Essential skills encompass CNC operation and setup, multitasking across multiple machines, strong measurement and math skills, attention to detail, safety awareness, effective communication, and computer proficiency. The role requires physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform various movements, with accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
