Position Summary

The CNC machinist is responsible for machining a variety of components needed for electronic assemblies. The operator will need to be self-sufficient and capable of resolving problems, setting up the machine, performing preventative maintenance, and inspecting the finished goods prior to movement to the next operation.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Organize and coordinate the CNC processes to ensure timely and high-quality production
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and design models
  • Load raw materials into the CNC machine
  • Select and load the correct cutting tools for the job
  • Experience with machining different materials (aluminum, stainless steel, brass, durostone, and phenolic)
  • Adjust machine settings to the desired product specifications
  • Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process
  • Complete quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product
  • Clean and maintain the machines
  • All other assigned duties
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • 3+ years’ experience required; knowledge of CNC programming is a plus
  • Firm grasp of GD&T
  • Experience with aerospace drawings, blueprints, and sketches
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, etc.)
  • Able to communicate effectively with others and understand verbal and written instructions
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Education, Experience, & Training:
  • High school education or GED
  • Technical or vocational education is a plus
  • CNC Training
Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
  • 2nd Shift (1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.)
  • Able to work with ITAR data without a license
  • Some light lifting required
  • Sitting for long periods
