V2X is growing! V2X is looking for a CNC Machinist I - 3rd Shift to join our team!

GENERAL SUMMARY

This role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications. The individual will gain experience in machining practices, materials, and tooling, contributing to the efficient production of parts. This is an entry-level or early-career role with opportunities for growth and development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sets up, programs, and operates CNC machines (3, 4, or 5-axis, as experience allows) with minimal guidance and training.
  • Sets up and operates various manual machines (mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses) with minimal guidance.
  • Performs basic assembly and repair of parts and mechanisms.
  • Applies knowledge of machining practices, mechanics, shop mathematics, and metal properties.
  • Interprets blueprints, sketches, specifications, and NC programs.
  • Follows detailed written and oral instructions.
  • Verifies conformance of workpieces to specifications using measuring instruments.
  • Produces parts within established quality and cost parameters.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of machining practices and metal properties.
  • Familiarity with manual machine tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of CNC programming (G-code, conversational).
  • Ability to use measuring instruments.
Education and Experience:
  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., machining, manufacturing technology) preferred but not required. Relevant certifications or training a plus.
  • 0-2 years of machining experience. Experience with CNC machines is a plus.
Physical and Other Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and/or handle materials.
  • Ability to stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance may be required.
