Job summary

SMS group Inc. in Shelby Township, Michigan, is seeking a CNC Machinist I to join our team. You will read and interpret basic manufacturing prints, set up CNC mills and lathes, and operate controls to produce precision parts.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret basic manufacturing prints for production.
• Familiar with standard setup and fixturing procedures for CNC mill and lathe.
• Proficient utilization of CNC machine controls.
• Proficient in manual programming using G-code.
• Use of band saws, presses and related shop equipment.
• Use of scales, calipers, micrometers, height gauge and indicators.
• Be able to read and understand Fanuc G-code a plus.
• Follow instructions and established procedures.

The right candidate will

• Read and understand basic manufacturing prints used for production of parts
