Kurt J. Lesker Company in Jefferson Hills, PA, is seeking a CNC Machinist I to set up and operate CNC milling equipment crafting precision metal and non-metal components.

You will read drawings, interpret G-code, and work in a high-mix, low-volume environment focused on quality and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in machine shop, a high school diploma or GED, and solid math and blueprint-reading skills.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years related machine shop experience or completed Journeyman machining program.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Advanced trigonometry and geometry machinist mathematical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machining technique.
  • Competent at reading and understanding measuring devices, blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist and lift up to 60lbs. unassisted.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components.
  • Read, interpret, and edit G-code programs.
  • Perform machining operations while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and basic GD&T requirements.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with machinists, engineers, and project managers.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
  • Follow company safety standards, policies, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Document production information, process adjustments, and inspection results.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Details:
  • Shift: 1st, 2nd & 3rd (Monday - Friday)
  • Type of Employment: Full-time

  • Reports to: CNC Supervisor
Key Job Elements:
