Job summary

Boon Edam is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our precision machining team in North Carolina. You will set up and operate CNC and manual machines, perform complex program edits, and ensure high-quality output for shipping to customers.

The role requires 3–5 years of CNC experience, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with GibbsCAM. You will contribute to a collaborative shop environment and may train junior staff. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent (Associate Degree in CNC Machining is a plus).
• 3-5 years’ experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment (GibbsCAM software experience preferred).
• Must be able to read blueprints and measure parts with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc.
• Thorough knowledge of work holding systems, tooling, and safe machining practices.
• Must be self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
• Good communication (English fluency) and organization skills with a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed; lift up to 30 lbs; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform a variety of CNC and manual machining tasks including cutting, milling, turning, bending, polishing and minor CNC programming.
• Do complex setups, recall and edit programs (Gcode) and make offsets as required to troubleshoot and meet quality & production requirements.
• Fabricate part holding fixtures as required to maintain quality and safety.
• Load, initiate machine cycles, unload, clean and inspect parts.
• Organize and complete tasks on-time to meet production schedule; train lesser experienced employees.
