Job summary

Planar Monolithics Industries, Inc. is seeking a Full Time position in Frederick, Maryland, focused on CNC machine operations and maintenance. Key responsibilities include setting up and machining aluminum housings, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining a clean machine shop.

The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, an understanding of mechanical drawings, and experience with CNC milling and programming. This role offers opportunities for training in the use of advanced CNC tools.

Qualifications

• Must have proficient Desktop Computer skills.
• Able to read & understand Mechanical Drawings, Dimensions and Tolerances.
• Understanding of Feed Rates for End Mills and Drills.
• Detail oriented and can work with minimal supervision.
• Multitasker (able to keep several processes running at once).
• Experience using CNC Milling and G-Code preferred (willing to train).
• Experience programming HAAS CNC using GibbsCAM preferred (willing to train).
• Experience in AutoCAD preferred.
• Experience in SolidWorks a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and Machine Aluminum Housings and Covers for day and night runs.
• Clean and deburr all finished parts.
• Inspect finished parts for dimensional tolerances to drawing specifications.
• Maintain CNC Machine at all times.
• Operate Manual Drill Press, Band saw, and Grinder as required.
• Painting of Finished Hardware using Military Grade Epoxy Paint.
• Maintenance of CNC Equipment, Manual Machines and Tools.
• Keep Machine Shop clean at all times.
