Touchstone Advanced Composites, a subsidiary of Core Natural Resources, is a rapidly growing supplier of high-tech tools and composite parts to the aerospace, space, defense, and other industries. We are seeking motivated individuals for the position of CNC Machinist who enjoy hands-on work, attention to detail, and working in a team environment to produce high-quality products. This position will be responsible for the operation of a variety of CNC machine tools, including setting up and verifying tooling and setting part offsets.

Target Responsibilities

  2. Be knowledgeable in the use and application of precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.
  3. Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  4. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, inserts, accessories, and materials on machines as needed to machine parts.
  5. Load parts, verify programs, operate controls, set offsets, make simple program edits, and perform initial inspection to ensure parts meet tolerances.
  6. Communicate with management, production control, quality, and other team members for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all equipment is kept in like-new condition according to maintenance plans and procedures.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.
  3. Minimum of two years of experience setting up 5-axis machines, such as Hass or Fanuc preferred.
  4. Working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and accessories used on various machines.
  5. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, policies, and procedures.
  6. Good manual dexterity for working with small parts.
  7. Ability to recognize and solve typical problems in own work area, evaluating and selecting solutions from established options.
  8. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  9. Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  10. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
  11. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods.
  12. Reliable in working scheduled hours and punctuality for work assignments.
  13. Availability to work overtime and weekends as required by the business.
