Ross Precision Manufacturing, a world-class, AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified contract manufacturer serving the aerospace, power generation, and high alloy melting industries, is looking for a machinist to join their growing team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform set ups and operate machine tools such as CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, CNC boring machines and grinders
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job orders and work instructions for product specifications such as dimensioning and tolerancing, tooling instructions, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cuts, and order of operations
  • Perform set ups according to set-up documentation to position, secure and touch off workpieces using work-holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers and/or fixtures
  • Performs routine machine maintenance
  • Perform in process inspections of parts and verify conformance of machined work pieces to customer specifications to adhere to the company's quality standards
  • Sets up and operates saws, bench grinders, welding machines and flame-cutting equipment as needed
  • Complete jobs to meet production deadlines
  • Operate hand tools such as grinders, chisels, saws, etc.
  • Operate lifting tools such as the crane, fork trucks and hand carts to safely move parts throughout the shop.
  • Actively demonstrates compliance to ISO 9001 and AS 9100, Quality System requirements in day to day operations.
  • Proactively contributes to company's overall mission and quality policy through teamwork, communication, and organizational processes.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs and assists with bench work and assembly as needed.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all other employees
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to meet production deadlines, under the supervision of cell leads.
  • Ability to follow and maintain written procedures, work instructions, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiently execute both, short-term and long-term organizational objectives that align with the organization's mission
  • Proficient in establishing rapport across all organizational levels
  • Consistent punctuality and attendance required
  • Complete associated paperwork and documentation requirements related to various job assignments in a timely and accurate manner.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Conventional and CNC controlled turning, milling, saw grinding machine centers.
