Aerospace CNC Machinist Job Purpose

Machinists perform operations related to manufacturing complex, tight tolerance aerospace components produced in multiple manufacturing cells. Responsible for optimizing productivity levels. Setup experience is a plus.

Aerospace CNC Machinist Duties

• Operate CNC and other manufacturing machines to produce machined parts, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Plan production by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels for finished products.
• Measure finished product dimensions to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

Aerospace CNC Machinist Education / Experience

• At least 3-10 years of CNC operation experience.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions. GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, depth gauges, and size blocks.

Aerospace CNC Machinist Skills/Qualifications

• Accuracy, attention to detail, and quality consciousness.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Process improvement skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lathe experience required.
