ELECTRIC MACHINERY COMPANY, a division of WEG Electric Corp., in Minneapolis, MN, seeks a Machinist for the 2nd shift to set up and operate CNC and manual machines while meeting close tolerance requirements. The role is full-time and unionized, with emphasis on quality, safety, and process adherence.

You will read routing, confirm locations and offsets, perform tool changes, and assist with tooling and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 2 year Machining degree or High School degree with a minimum of 3 years equivalent machining experience.
• Ability to read design prints, understand geometric design & tolerancing (GD&T) and surface finish requirements.
• Ability to operate CNC machinery, vertical turret lathes, boring mills, engine or turret lathes, radial or horizontal drilling machines, external/internal grinders, horizontal boring mills.
• Have knowledge of CNC programming, ability to make basic edits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Machine high quality parts within tolerance requirements using CNC and manual machines.
• Setting up and layout parts, both manually and using your machine to check proper locations and work offsets
• Read routing information to determine sequence and method of machining.
• Layout work, partner with Mfg. Engineering related to set up, machining and tooling.
• Performs preventative maintenance of machines and equipment.
• Uses electric and pneumatic hand tools.
• Deburr and hand clean parts.
• Completes necessary QA/Customer documentation.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane.
• Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work.
• Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.
