Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a CNC Production Machinist for the 2nd shift (Mon-Thurs, 3pm-1am) in Jackson, TN. Starting pay is $24.27/hr plus a $1.50 shift differential, with comprehensive benefits for eligible employees.

You will load/unload materials, perform quality checks, maintain machines, and execute changeovers with CNC program adjustments while ensuring safety and PMI standards.

Qualifications

• High school plus 2 years related experience and/or training; Machinist 1 diploma preferred
• Proficiency in 5S and safety, reading manufacturing documents, basic part prints, general gauging, refraction readings and coolant adjustments
• Strong math skills and GD&T interpretation including tolerances, materials and processes
• Must be capable and willing to work in a machining environment with cutting fluids and oils

Responsibilities

• Load/unload materials and parts safely and efficiently
• Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers and gauges
• Carry out operator PM including lubrication and coolant management
• Manage multiple machines concurrently
• Start up/shut down machines and troubleshoot processing issues
• Modify CNC programs and select tools for part changeovers and ensure part verification

What You’ll Do

As a CNC Machinist, you’ll be part of our team located in Jackson, TN. You’ll get to:

• Ability to properly load/unload materials and parts in a safe & efficient manner.
• Perform necessary quality checks of parts including the effective use of calipers, micrometers, and complex functional gauges.
• Perform operator PM of machinery including required lubrication & maintaining proper oil and coolant levels.
• Ability to maintain and operate multiple machines at a time.
• Self-sufficiency in operating complex machining equipment including start-up and shutdown, re-starts after stoppages, and problem-solving equipment processing issues.
• Self-sufficiency in product changeovers including CNC program modifications, cutting tool and holder selections, and part checking methods and procedures.

• High school, plus 2 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Machinist 1 diploma strongly preferred.
• Exhibit proficiency in basic shop skills including 5S and safety, obtaining & utilizing manufacturing documents, basic part print understanding, general gauging procedures, refractometer readings and coolant concentrations adjustments, general SPC station utilization, material scrap procedures, ISO guidelines, and productivity database utilization
• Demonstrate strong math skills and part print interpretation skills including tolerances, GD&T, materials and processes.
• Must be capable and willing to work in a machining environment requiring the use of cutting fluids and oils
