Base pay range

$31.32/hr - $32.25/hr

We are currently looking for a CNC Machinist on 2nd Shift at our Sterling Heights, MI facility. The CNC Machinist will perform CNC Milling within the Fisher Dynamics Tool Room to support production, die repair, and maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan machining operations by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, and specifications; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Manage stock inventory by checking stock levels and anticipating needs.
  • Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, setting zero and reference points, and calculating requirements.
  • Set up mills by installing and adjusting tooling, fixtures, and other equipment.
  • Load and position stock for machining.
  • Verify settings by measuring first-run parts and sample workpieces, adhering to standards.
  • Maintain quality by monitoring machining processes, troubleshooting, and reprogramming as needed.
  • Ensure safety by following safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Document actions and communicate with other shifts to ensure continuity.
  • Complete production and quality logs.
  • Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge.
  • Accept responsibilities and seek opportunities to add value.
Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License, Hi-Lo License & Overhead Crane License.
  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent education/certification.
  • CNC experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD & MasterCam.
  • Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Blueprint reading skills.
  • Ability to calculate speeds, feeds, and perform machine offsets.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with all levels of staff and suppliers.
Additional Information

Safety glasses and hearing protection are required. Other safety equipment is used as needed.

The work environment is typical of an office and manufacturing setting. Physical demands include frequent visual effort, mobility throughout the plant, color identification for repairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
