Job summary

Ampco Pumps Company in Glendale, WI is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift (Tue-Thu 1pm-11pm, Fri 12pm-10pm). The role focuses on interpreting drawings, setting up Mazak centers, and Mazatrol programming to produce quality parts for pumps used in food, dairy, and industrial applications.

The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, experience with Mazak mills, and familiarity with CMM inspection equipment. Training is available for the right motivated candidate.

Qualifications

• High attention to detail is required.
• Experience on Mazak mills is helpful.
• Knowledge of Mazatrol programming, CMM, and inspection equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and CNC programs.
• Set up Mazak vertical machining centers and tooling accurately.
• Adjust and program Mazatrol.
• Make necessary offset adjustments to tools and work offsets.
• Maximizing efficiency by inspecting, cleaning, and skidding while the machine is cycling.
• Inspect machined parts and ensure they are within the appropriate tolerance.
• Communicate relevant quantity and quality issues to management.
• Assist with other Machine Shop projects, as needed.

Ampco Pumps Company is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. Due to expansion, we have an opening at our Glendale location for a CNC Machinist. This is a 2nd Shift position- Hours are Tuesday-Thursday 1pm-11pm and Friday 12p-10pm.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Interpreting engineering drawings and CNC programs.
• Setting up Mazak vertical machining centers and tooling accurately and efficiently
• Adjusting and Programming in Mazatrol
• Making necessary offset adjustments to tools and work offsets.
• Maximizing efficiency by inspecting, cleaning, and skidding while the machine is cycling.
• Inspecting machined parts and ensure they are within the appropriate tolerance.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Trade School plus 1 year of CNC Machining experience -OR- 3+ years of CNC Machining experience preferred.
• Willing to train the right candidate that is motivated and ready to work.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Must be able to stand 8-10 hours a day.
