Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a CNC Machinist in Downers Grove, IL on the 2nd and 3rd shifts. You will set up, operate, and adjust CNC lathes and mills from drawings and instructions to produce precision parts.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of CNC experience, can maintain tight tolerances to .0003, perform first article and in-process inspections, and work within AS9100/Lean/Six Sigma environments; US citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience operating CNC Lathes and/or Mills.
• Skilled in the use of indicator, gauge, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts.
• Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0003”), hold .0003 profile, roundness.
• Ideal candidate will have experience with AS9100, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma.
• Per ITAR requirements, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder)

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines, lathes and/or mills from drawings and written instructions to create parts.
• Maintain part conformance per sketch and drawing requirements; perform in-process quality inspection and records.
• Identify and recommend process improvements that reduce part quality variation.
• Input data into visual management forms and convey results to management.
• Continuously improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste.
