Job summary

Hytrol Manufacturing, a division of Advance Turning & Manufacturing, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist in Westland, Michigan. You will set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills, read engineering drawings and GD&T, select tooling, and maintain tight dimensional accuracy on complex components.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of precision CNC experience, are comfortable working with stainless steels and high-nickel alloys, and can troubleshoot to keep quality and productivity high.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or mills.
  • Ability to consistently hold tight tolerances and read blueprints/GD&T.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
  • Experience with stainless steels, high-nickel alloys is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills to produce precision components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Select tooling, workholding, cutting tools, and machining parameters.
  • Make machine offsets and adjustments to maintain tight dimensional requirements.
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining and process issues to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including stainless steels and high-nickel alloys.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Maintain consistent quality while meeting production requirements.
  • Work independently while collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Hytrol Manufacturing, a division of Advance Turning & Manufacturing, Inc., is a precision manufacturer serving the medical, aerospace, and other high-performance industries. We are currently looking for CNC Machinists who must have over 5 years experience running and setting up CNC's to join our team at our Westland, Michigan facility.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills to produce precision components.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and/or mills.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and workholding.
  • Ability to consistently hold tight tolerances.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T.
  • Proficiency with precision inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Experience machining stainless steels, high-nickel alloys, or other difficult-to-machine materials is a plus.
  • CNC programming experience is preferred.
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS, Mastercam, or Edgecam is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
