Job Title: CNC Machinist

Company: Biomerics

Location: Monroe, CT

Position Type: Full-time Employee

Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $30.00, depending on experience.

CNC Machinist (Willemin- our models)

1st & 2nd shift available.

First shift hours- 5AM-1PM

Second shift hours-5PM-1AM

Biomerics offers Swiss machining with integrated laser cutting on precision medical tubing. Laser/Swiss machining enables features to be machined and laser cut in the same process. Our core competency lies in smaller medical components, produced with high accuracy and repeatability. Traditional Swiss screw machining capability is also available for rapid prototyping and production.

In addition, Biomerics utilizes five axis milling machines capable of producing complex finished components, while holding extremely tight tolerances.

Job Description: Biomerics has immediate openings for talented CNC Machine Operator at our facility in Monroe, CT. Working in a team environment, this individual will ensure that automated manufacturing processes are producing optimal results.

Representative Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and operate machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
  • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
  • Prepare and load raw materials onto the machines.
  • Set up and run first pieces to verify that the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.

Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.

Requirements

Desired Skills, Talent, and Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing Engineering degree or equivalent degree/experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
  • Experience with PLCs, servo, and other motion controls, pneumatics, sensors, etc.
  • Solid modeling/CAD/CAM experience a plus (SolidWorks, PartMaker, S Abile, etc.)
  • Knowledge of machine shop equipment and practice, (actual machining experience a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with assembly, debug, and troubleshooting
  • SPC experience and proficiency
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential.
