Job summary

Nercon Conveyor Systems in Wisconsin is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up, program and operate CNC machines to fabricate precision parts. You will load part programs, run cycles, inspect outputs and troubleshoot tool wear and machine faults.

The role requires reading blueprints, interpreting GD&T, and performing basic preventive maintenance. Teamwork, safety awareness, and the ability to stand for extended periods are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC programming, setup and operation.
  • Knowledge of G and M code programming on Fanuc or equivalent CNC; turning/milling centers.

  • Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude.

Job description

A CNC M achinist sets up, programs and operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC machinist loads part programs in the machine, cycles machine, inspects parts and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following:

  • Responsible for set-up, programming and operation of CNC machinery.
  • Plans machining process by studying work orders and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T), and accurately applying appropriate machining parameters.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A related technical degree is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience with set-up, programming and operation of CNC machinery.
  • Knowledge of G and M code programming on Fanuc controlled or equal CNC turning/milling centers.
  • Must be able to program, set-up, and operate turning/milling centers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to ready blueprints, shop orders, etc.
  • A valid driver’s license and pre-employment drug test is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Average level of physical exertion is medium. Required to bend, kneel, twist, squat, stretch and reach. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Required to stand for extended periods of time. Required to walk.
