Job summary

TRAN AEROSPACE, INC. in Wichita, KS is looking for a skilled CNC machinist to set up, program and operate Haas or Fanuc controlled machines to tight tolerances.

You will read blueprints, verify dimensions with calipers and micrometers, and monitor parts to ensure conformance with engineering drawings and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of CNC experience, strong communication, and a proven ability to work safely and independently in a busy shop.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience reading blueprints and using calipers and/or micrometers.
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls.
• Excellent communication skills in verbal and written form.
• Ability to work in a self-directed environment with minimal supervision.
• Adherence to all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Reviews set-up sheets and specifications to perform set up, adjust and operate all basic machine tools to ensure precision machining operations.

• Anticipates problems and prevents damage and scrap by taking appropriate precautionary care.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to produce parts and determine dimensions and tolerances as needed.

Set up and operates Numerical control machine (CNC) and other machines to cut, shape and form metal works pieces to speciation\'s. previous experiences operating Haas controls and Funic.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews set-up sheets and specifications to perform set up, adjust and operate all the basic machine tools and/or advanced tools to ensure precision machining operations.
• Monitor and verify parts that are being run to ensure conformance to engineer drawings and quality standards.
• Anticipates problems and prevents damage and scrap by taking appropriate precautionary care.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to produce parts and determine dimensions and tolerances as needed.
• Operates all equipment in accordance with established operational procedures. safety procedures to maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment.

JOB REQUIRMENTS

• MUST have at least 5 years of experience with CNC machining. Educational training will be considered!
• Experience with reading blueprints and using calipers and/or micrometers
• Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls
• Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written.
• Ability to perform in a self-directed environment with little supervision is essential.
• Must follow and adhere to all safety procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

• Able to stand, walk, push, pull, reach, overhead, and bend on the floor.
• able to exert 20 to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
• Subject to high noise levels from operating machines.
