Job summary

Professional Plastics, Inc. is seeking a CNC Operator for the third shift (Friday–Sunday, 6:00am–6:00pm) to set up and run CNC machines, read drawings, and maintain quality in a fast-paced plastics manufacturing environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and prior machine operation experience. A comprehensive benefits package and competitive pay are offered to join a family-owned business with 22 locations.

  • Previous machine operation experience is required.
  • Experience reading drawings and process sheets is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, programs and operates CNC machines to spec.
  • Interprets drawings, program sheets and process sheets to determine work.
  • Maintains quality by performing inspection and gauging operations.
  • Checks setups and adjusts machines to meet tolerances.
  • Documents issues and notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
  • Performs routine machine maintenance and keeps work area clean.

This is a THIRD SHIFT position. Friday – Sunday ; 6:00am – 6:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sets up, programs and operates CNC machines
  • Plans and performs a variety of machine operations utilizing numerical controlled machines, i.e. Mills, Lathes, Routers and/or saws to machine plastic or metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties
  • Interprets complicated drawings, program sheets, instructions, and process sheets to determine work to be done
  • Performs diversified operations on numerical controlled machines
  • Performs a variety of related operations to close and interrelated tolerances
  • Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine sequence and dimensions of finished work piece
  • Attaches fixtures to machine according to setup instructions
  • Manipulates controls to start machine
  • Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions
  • Performs a variety of inspection and gaging operations to insure maintenance of quality standards and specifications
  • Measures work piece for conformance to specifications
  • Notifies Supervisor of discrepancies
  • Adjusts machine according to specifications
  • Cleans machine parts and performs machine maintenance
Minimum Qualifications :

Education and Experience: (Required and preferred educational and experiential qualifications)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous machine operation experience is required
