Job summary

Uniloy INC is seeking a skilled Machinist to operate CNC and manual machines on the 2nd shift in Michigan. Read blueprints, set up tools, monitor tolerances and adjust feeds to produce precision parts for machines, instruments and tools.

The role requires 5-axis experience, strong math and measurement skills, and the ability to maintain quality while optimizing procedures. Training preferred; safety and efficiency are emphasized in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.
• Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Great verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools to take accurate measurements.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Knowledge of metal properties and other material.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings or instructions to understand specifications.
• Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
• Plan the sequence of actions for completing a job.
• Select machines and load material for a job.
• Monitor machine to adjust feed and maintain temperature.
• Determine batch size and machine speed.
• Monitor output for conformance to specifications and discard defects.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.
• 5 axis experience.

Job Summary

The machinist will operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to cut and produce precision parts for machines, instruments, and tools. The Machinist repairs and produces parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements. The machinists' goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures.

2nd Shift (3pm-1am)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
• Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
• Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
• Select appropriate machines and position or load material for a job
• Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
• Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
• Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
• Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
• 5 axis experience
• All other duties as assigned
