Héroux-Devtek Inc. in Springfield, OH is seeking a Machinist to set up and machine precision parts per specifications with minimal supervision. You will operate CNC lathes, mills, and complex machines, ensuring quality, safety, and productivity.

• Experience with CNC turning and milling setups.
• Strong attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Machine Control: pull/send programs, tool changes, troubleshooting, offsets.
• Understand setup sheets, tool lists, and Operational Detail Sheets.
• Calculate Work Offsets/Indicating.
• Tighten and clamp parts maintaining free state.
• Tape-prove new/modified programs and anticipate machine behavior.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Support 6-S activities.
• Conduct pre-start up inspections with health and safety in mind.
• Run multiple machines safely and efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned and adhere to policies.

Information on the division:

Located in Springfield, the 70+ employee facility (100,000+ sq. ft.) is one of Heroux-Devtek's centers of excellence for the manufacturing of medium to large complex landing gear and titanium components.

As part of the Central Division you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.

Summary:

The Machinist will be responsible for the set up and machining precision parts to specifications with minimal assistance.

Main responsibilities

• Machine Control which includes pull and send programs; tool change; trouble shooting; entering tool and D-Comp offsets; M.D.I.
• Understanding setup sheets, tool lists and Operational Detail Sheets
• Calculating Work Offsets/Indicating
• Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. 'Free State' condition and part clamped maintaining free state)
• Tape proving new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts
• Preventive maintenance
• 6-S Activities
• Pre-start up inspections which incorporate Health & Safety awareness
• Running a combined number of machines simultaneously in a safe and effective manner. (Combo)
• Other duties as assigned
• Adhering at all times to company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements
