Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines to produce precision components
  • Perform equipment pre-operation checks to ensure proper setup, startup, and continuous running
  • Monitor multi-equipment operations during production runs to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards
  • Select appropriate speeds, feeds, and tooling based on material and part specifications
  • Inspect finished parts using precision tools to ensure exact alignment with blueprint specifications
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and adjust machine parameters as needed during operation
  • Maintain clear communication with team members and support teams to maximize production efficiency
  • Rotate across different departmental work centers as required

CNC Machinist Role

The CNC Machinist sets up, operates, and monitors vertical milling machinery to manufacture high-precision components to exact customer specifications.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines to produce precision components
  • Perform equipment pre-operation checks to ensure proper setup, startup, and continuous running
  • Monitor multi-equipment operations during production runs to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards
  • Select appropriate speeds, feeds, and tooling based on material and part specifications

CNC Machinist Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor with no direct reports

About You

  • Possess at least five years of manufacturing or precision machining experience
  • Demonstrate proficiency setting up and operating CNC vertical mills
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Program and edit machine functions using G&M code
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Operate material handling equipment safely within a production facility
  • Demonstrate English communication skills to read, write, and count inventory accurately
  • Lift up to 40 lbs and work effectively in an active shop environment
