Job summary

Power Gen Components is seeking a CNC Lathe and/or Mill Set-Up Operator Machinist for a full-time in-person role. The position supports both day and night shifts on a 4x10 schedule (Mon.-Thurs.), with pay based on experience.

You will set up and operate CNC machines, plan machining from drawings and GD&T, verify measurements, maintain tooling and safety, and document production logs. Mastercam knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience machining with difficult materials (Inconel 718, 422 stainless, hardened).
• Mastercam knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to read plans and tolerances (GD&T) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining by studying work orders, drawings and GD&T.
• Set tool registers, offsets, and calculations; load lathes with chucks and tools.
• Load stock and verify positions by first part measurements.
• Monitor drilling, grooving and turning; adjust and replace worn tools.
• Document production and quality logs; maintain safety and equipment.

CNC Lathe and/or Mill Set-up/Operator Machinist

Position Type: Full-time In-Person

Schedule:4x10s (Mon.-Thurs.)

A CNC Lathe/Mill Set-Up Operator/Machinist produces machined parts by setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Experience working with difficult material such as Inconel 718 and 422 stainless in a hardened condition is a plus. Knowledge and use of Mastercam a plus.

Job Duties:

• Plans machining by studying work orders, drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. Sets-up lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops, indicating vices.
• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to international standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
