Job description

Husky Technologies TM is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Milton, Vermont.

Salary Range

$27 - $31 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain tooling in peak condition.
  • Understand specifications and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands so machines can perform the correct function.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
  • Supervise machine operation, make adjustments as needed to produce the desired result.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine compliance.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repair.
  • Document and communicate any actions taken or needed across shifts.
  • Make subjective quality decisions regarding part aesthetics.
  • Provide key information on machining operations for maintenance during troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to entry- and intermediate-level machinists.
  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis on non-conformance and scrap events, communicating findings and dispositions.
  • Support process manufacturing capability studies and improvement projects.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for operations representation in manufacturing reviews.
  • Conduct audits of manufacturing processes.
  • Regrind or alter standard tooling to meet custom feature requirements.
  • Program and edit parts, write macro sub‑routines as necessary for unattended equipment operation.
  • Develop tool specifications and procure machining tooling for various dimensional characteristics.
  • Perform machine setup and first-piece program/part validation for new prototype jobs.
Skills / Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in CNC machining preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Understanding of machine controllers (PLC s and CNC s).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills required.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
