Job summary

Evolve Engineering and Software in Longmont, CO is seeking a CNC Machinist to join a hands-on shop team. You will work with Haas mills and lathes, reading run sheets from in-house programmers and setting up blanks to the programmer’s directions, ensuring tight tolerances.

Five years or more in a machine shop are required, with current hands-on CNC experience and the ability to read drawings precisely. A willingness to adapt to a new workflow and help out across the shop is essential.

Responsibilities

• Make highly precise parts in metal and plastic on Haas mills and lathes.
• Read and work from the run sheets issued by CNC programmers.
• Set blanks in the machine precisely as the programmer directed.
• Read technical drawings for dimensions, and measure parts against them.
• Carry out quality assurance across everything you machine.
• Deburr and prepare parts for washing and final inspection.
• Aim at extremely precise parts for our customers, every time.

Job description

Evolve Engineering and Software is looking to hire a CNC Machinist. We are growing and moving quickly to hire people who fit. Our ideal candidate is an open-minded team player: a good attitude, an open mind about new ways of doing things, eagerness to learn, easy to work with, and willing to help out elsewhere in the shop.

You will come in running machines alongside a senior machinist, on our Haas CNC mills and lathes and on manual machines. Current experience running machines is essential. CNC programming experience is not required - our machinists work from run sheets issued by our in-house programmers.

Pay depends on experience: more experience, higher starting rate. Experience in mechanical or software engineering is a plus and is paid as such. When the shop is running with minimal part waste we also pay quarterly bonuses.
