Job summary

Precision Resources in Kentucky is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to read blueprints, set up and run CNC and manual mills and lathes, and develop programs with CAD/CAM tools. The role requires GD&T expertise and 5-axis capability.

You will optimize tooling, determine speeds and feeds, and verify dimensions with precision instruments, while creating setup sheets and documentation for operators.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience.
• Experience with both CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (CATIA preferred; Mastercam or GibbsCAM acceptable).
• Ability to program and optimize 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers.
• Experience calculating speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Vericut experience is a plus.
• Experience writing post processors is a plus.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements.
• Set up and operate CNC and manual mills and lathes.
• Program CNC machines, including tool offsets, work coordinates, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters.
• Perform machining operations such as:
• Milling
• Turning
• Drilling
• Boring
• Grooving
• Threading
• Facing
• Knurling
• Design and build machining fixtures and workholding setups.
• Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize programs and processes.
• Maintain machine tools and perform preventive maintenance.
• Use CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA, to create and modify machining programs.
• Create setup sheets and supporting documentation for machine operators.
• Select tooling and cutting strategies for various materials.
• Machine parts to print specifications and special customer requirements.
