Job summary

Latitude in Hampstead, MD seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and monitor 4- and 5-axis milling machines, producing precision components that meet tight specifications. The role requires reading blueprints with GD&T proficiency, interpreting CNC programs, and performing in-process inspections.

Qualifications

• Experience with 4- and/or 5-axis CNC milling in production or job-shop settings.
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints and GD&T for tight tolerances.
• Skilled in tool selection, offsets, and cycle time optimization.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture precision parts
• Identify, select, and install cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding
• Perform tool presetting, offsets, and tool length/radius adjustments
• Load and verify CNC programs; make minor edits as needed
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and CNC setup sheets
• Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
• Monitor machine performance and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets
• Troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, materials, or programs
• Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation
• Follow safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good condition

Job Summary:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires strong experience in tool identification, presetting, and working with complex multi-axis machining processes in a production or job-shop environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC milling machines to manufacture precision parts
