SUMMARY
Sets up and operates Computer Numerical Control machines or machining centers to perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, tapping of metallic, and non-metallic work pieces.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
4 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

The employee is required to consistently be able to hear in order to monitor machine sounds, and cutting tool sounds to diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, to read gauges and precision instruments.
