Job Description

This position will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining ProtoTrak lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts according to technical drawings and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, proficiency in interpreting blueprints, and the ability to work independently to achieve production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce precision quality parts machining various materials to engineering specifications (SS304, 316L, aluminum, and various plastics, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret prints.
  • Review Production Status Report and complete orders as needed.
  • Perform your setups.
  • Follow the checklist: shop employee pre-inspection before work step
  • Punch job in ERP system
  • Verifyfinal dimensions with print, by using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges.
  • Perform repair and preventative maintenance on shop equipment.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
  • Promote customer focus

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Familiar with the metric system
  • Familiarity with G & M codes or ProtoTrak controls is a plus
  • Ability to read prints and use measuring tools
  • Experience in turning lathe is a plus

Competencies:

  • Quick learner to become proficient at editing programs and controls
  • Work independently
  • Highly dependable with an excellent attendance record is required

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Must be a US citizen or a permanent resident
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position

Education:

  • High School Graduate or GED. Preferably from a vocational-technical high school, the completion of an apprenticeship program, or a community college/technical school training program.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate in themanufacturing shop environment.
  • In addition to competitive compensation, you will enjoy working in a well-lit, climate-controlled environment andbe provided with company-paid uniforms.

Additional Information

Position Type: This is a full-time (non-exempt/hourly) position. Compensation will be based on experience.Non-exempt employees will receive overtime pay at 1.5 times the calculated hourly rate for time worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

Hours: First Shift, M-F, 7:00 am - 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm – Overtime is possible

Benefits: We offer medical and dental plans (company pays 83% of the premium for employees and eligible dependents); company-paid short term and long term disability plans, company-paid life insurance and AD&D plans; voluntary vision plan; voluntary life and dependent life plans at discounted group rates; a 401(k) plan with a 4% safe harbor company match, company paid holidays and generous paid time off plan (starting with 18 PTO days per year and increasing accrual rate every 2 1/2 years).

Home Office / Travel: This position is located at our US headquarters in Branford, CT. This position requiresno travel.
