Job summary

Allegheny Bradford Corporation in Bradford, PA is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers, producing high-purity stainless steel components for pharmaceutical, biotech, and food processing industries. You will read blueprints, maintain tight tolerances, perform quality checks with calipers and micrometers, and collaborate with engineers and shop staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience or an Associate Degree in machining or equivalent trade training.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Stainless steel or exotic metals experience preferred.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift in a production environment with exposure to metal dust and shop noise.

Responsibilities

• Setup & Operation – Prepare and operate multi-axis CNC machining centers to perform milling, drilling, boring, tapping, and facing operations.
• Quality Control – Inspect parts during and after machining using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure quality standards.
• Programming Support – Interpret CNC programs and assist with troubleshooting or minor edits when needed.
• Preventative Maintenance – Perform routine oiling, cleaning, and machine upkeep to ensure optimal performance.
• Team Collaboration – Work closely with engineers, shop supervisors, and fellow machinists to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.
• Safety & Cleanliness – Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Who Are You?

• You bring at least 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines — including mills, lathes, and boring equipment.
• You can read and interpret complex blueprints, machining symbols, and geometric tolerancing.
• You understand the fundamentals of feeds, speeds, and cutting tools — and can adjust setups to maintain tight tolerances.
• You’re organized, dependable, and safety-conscious.
• You’re familiar with stainless steel machining and take pride in clean, accurate work.
• You’re able to work independently, manage your time well, and support a team-based shop floor.
