Job summary

We are seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist for a manufacturing company in Berlin, CT. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC Milling Machines, with some programming (loading/editing) preferred. Blueprint reading is required and direct experience with CNC set ups is essential.

Salary ranges from $52,000 to $73,000 per year. Work hours are 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM; shift details note First in the text, but the schedule aligns with second shift in Berlin, CT location.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and interpreting technical drawings.
• Proficient with CNC Milling Machines across 3, 4, and 5 axes.
• Some programming experience (loading/editing) preferred.
• Able to set up machines and verify setups against specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups quickly, accurately, and efficiently on 3–5 axis milling equipment.
• Load and prove out CNC programs; work with engineering to improve programs and fixturing.
• Operate machines for production runs; set offsets and perform simple edits.
• Inspect parts for conformance to Process/Inspection sheets and drawings.
• Communicate with supervisors and shop personnel about issues and needs.
• Keep equipment and workspace clean; perform basic preventative maintenance.
• Maintain lot control and quality per the Quality Management System.
• Monitor performance and report issues to supervision.

Responsibilities

• Performing machine setups quickly, accurately, and efficiently on all 3, 4, and 5 Axis milling equipment


• Loading, proving out, and maintenance of CNC programs. Work with engineering to suggest improvements to CNC programs and fixturing as applicable


• Operating machines to produce production runs of parts as needed including operating controls, setting offsets, and performing simple edits


• Inspecting of parts for conformance to requirements of Process / Inspection sheets and customer drawings


• Communicating with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to report machining, equipment or quality issues


• Keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly. Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment


• Maintaining lot control and quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System


• Monitoring and documenting operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisor as required
