Job summary

Northstar is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support aerospace machining operations. You will provide technical oversight, operate CNC and manual equipment, and assist with setup activities to ensure quality parts are produced on schedule.

The role requires at least 5 years of CNC aerospace experience, strong communication, and a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. This is a full-time, on-site position in the Phoenix area.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience with CNC aerospace machining.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with MRP systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines and manual equipment as needed.
  • Provide technical oversight and assist with setup activities.
  • Assist teammates with technical issues and lean initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Production Supervisor to meet daily targets.

Position Title: CNC MachinistReports To: Production SupervisorLocation: PhoenixFLSA Status: Non-ExemptDirect Reports: NoneSUMMARY OF POSITIONThis position is responsible for providing technical assistance and oversight to all CNC machinists. This position also must operate the manual equipmentThis position is in Northstar’s Manufacturing Department, and reports to the Production Supervisor. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary, but does not direct the work of other employees. This is a full-time position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. This list is not all inclusive and may be amended by Northstar, from time to time.Assist teammates with technical issuesPerform precision machining operations on aerospace hardwareProvides technical oversight and assist with all setup activities on CNC equipmentHelps schedule resources in areas to ensure daily work is achievedMaintain highly efficient work process using Lean principles to support cost reduction activityResponsible for operating various CNC machines and equipmentSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position will not direct the work of any other employees.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical requirements of this position are listed below.
