Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for our Alvada, Ohio shop. This on-site, permanent role focuses on setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce precise parts per engineering drawings.

You will review prints, install tools, adjust offsets, perform first-piece and in-process inspections, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues. Training and safety practices are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated CNC machining and setup experience; a machining certificate or apprenticeship is helpful.
• Ability to independently complete setups on CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and interpreting tolerances and GD&T.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments to verify part quality.
• Working knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, offsets, feeds, and speeds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture parts according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Review prints, dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements before beginning work.
• Install and align cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding; establish tool and work offsets.
• Verify existing programs and make authorized adjustments to offsets, feeds, speeds, and tool selections.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring tools.
• Monitor machining operations and correct dimensional variation, tool wear, chatter, and surface-finish issues.
• Produce components for custom equipment, tooling, replacement parts, and production orders.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality personnel to resolve print questions and manufacturing issues.
• Deburr parts, document inspection results, and maintain accurate job records.
• Complete routine machine care and follow shop safety procedures.

• Experience producing parts to print in a custom machining or production environment.

Preferred:

• Experience with 4th/5th-axis milling or multi-axis turning.
• G-code editing or CAD/CAM programming experience.
• Experience machining hardened materials, specialty alloys, or plastics.
• Background machining fixtures, tooling, or custom machine components.
• Familiarity with CMM inspection results.
