Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC in Alamo, TN, is seeking a skilled Machinist Team Lead to guide a high-mix, low-volume machine shop. You will oversee setup, operation, and optimization of advanced CNC equipment, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time production of transformer components.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in CNC environments, experience with turn-mill centers and horizontal mills, and strong GD&T and G-code skills. Leadership and continuous improvement mindset are essential for this role.

Qualifications

5+ years of CNC machine shop experience.
Experience with multi-axis turn-mill machining and horizontal centers.
Able to read blueprints and apply GD&T standards.
Knowledge of G-code programming and machining fundamentals.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Guide setup and operation of Mazak and DMG Mori multi-axis turn-mill centers and CNC lathes.
Support robot-integrated turn-mill systems to boost productivity and safety.
Operate horizontal machining centers with pallet pool systems for efficient flow.
Complete tooling setup, offsets, fixtures, and machine adjustments.
Monitor performance and adjust processes to meet quality and cycle time goals.
Coach team on standard work and problem solving to drive improvement.
