Job summary

ABB is seeking a hands-on Machining Operator to set up and operate CNC machines, monitor quality, and understand tooling, speeds, feeds, and operation sequences to keep production running smoothly.

You will read and interpret drawings, use precision measuring tools to verify specs, maintain production records, and uphold safety, quality, and housekeeping standards; collaborate in a team and be open to cross-training and training others; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of industrial machining or military experience, or vocational/technical education; motor manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must pass a background and drug screen and have valid U.S. work authorization.
• Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English is essential for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Regular attendance and availability for overtime are essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• CNC Operation & Machining: Sets up and operates CNC machines, monitors for quality and unusual conditions, and understands machining tools, speeds, feeds, and operation sequences.
• Technical Proficiency: Reads and interprets drawings, follows work instructions, and inspects products using precision measuring tools throughout production.
• Teamwork & Reliability: Demonstrates dependability, strong work ethic, ability to follow directions, and works effectively in a team environment; willing to cross-train and train others.
• Safety & Documentation: Prioritizes workplace safety, maintains daily housekeeping, completes required paperwork, and is flexible with overtime and other assigned duties.
