Job summary

Community Metal Works in Marlboro, NY is seeking a dependable Machining Center Operator to set up, load/unload, and run CNC centers for steel and aluminum parts. The role supports production with attention to quality and precise drawings, with a planned relocation to Saugerties after Jan 1, 2027.

Responsibilities include loading fixtures, starting cycles, reviewing drawings, recording hours, and performing basic inspections and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with metal parts manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings.
• Ability to use calipers and tape measures to verify features.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload fixtures in the machining center per work orders.
• Load fixtures with material and start machine cycles.
• Retrieve and execute machine programs based on work order requirements.
• Access and review engineering drawings through the shop floor computer system.
• Retrieve raw materials from stock as needed.
• Record labor hours and materials used for each job in the computer data system.
• Perform basic quality inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, tape measures, and check fixtures.
• Complete basic daily machine maintenance procedures.
• Operate a second machining center when needed.
• Use basic deburring equipment and tools between machining cycles.
• Assist with packing finished parts for shipment.
