Job summary

Columbus Technical College seeks a Full-time Machine Tool Technology Instructor to lead the Machine Tool and CNC curriculum. The role includes preparing lesson plans, supervising classrooms and labs, and evaluating student progress while maintaining safety standards.

Teaching may involve high school students and travel within service areas as needed. Responsibilities cover developing course outlines, maintaining equipment, and supporting recruitment and job placement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Diploma in Machine Tool Technology from an accredited college or technical institution.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience (experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis).

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in Machine Tool and CNC skill areas.
  • Develop and maintain program and course outlines, goals, and objectives in accordance with state standards.
  • Evaluate student progress toward meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Maintain program supplies, tools, and equipment in good working order.
  • Adhere to program management procedures and maintain required documentation.
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in all training areas.
  • Respond promptly to administrative requests and communications.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
  • Apply keen observation, supervision, and evaluation skills to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Utilize general computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Word.
