Job Description
Since its founding in 1931, Pennsylvania Machine Works has grown to become a leader in the forged pressure fitting industry. Our products are furnished to the most demanding requirements of the marine, nuclear power, petrochemical, shipbuilding, cryogenic, and steel making industries and are used in many other critical industrial applications.
We are currently looking for Machining Shop Maintenance Mechanics to join our great team in Aston, PA.
SUMMARY
Perform a variety of semiskilled and skilled duties to repair, rebuild, maintain, and install machinery, building equipment, and fixtures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or over three years up and including five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply basic trigonometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
