Job summary

Cadence, Inc. in DeLand, FL is seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Operator III – Group Lead to oversee daily machining and tooling activities. You will perform CNC setup, operation, and programming in a MIM environment, guiding the team and escalating issues as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma with technical certifications, 5+ years in CNC, CAD/CAM (SolidWorks), GD&T, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and technical school certifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC and machine setup and operation.
• Advanced CNC setup, operation, tooling, and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAM programming and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of machining processes, blueprints, GD&T, and inspection methods.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and coordinate work without direct supervisory authority.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily workflow, priorities, and task assignments within the machining/tooling area.
• Perform setup and operation of CNC and other production machines.
• Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software, including SolidWorks.
• Select and adjust tooling, fixtures, offsets, and machine settings.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and equipment issues.
• Inspect parts and make adjustments to maintain quality and specifications.
• Verify job travelers, work orders, and production documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide hands‑on training, guidance, and support to team members.
• Monitor production, quality, and workflow and elevate issues as appropriate.
• Promote adherence to safety, GMP, GDP, and standard work requirements.

Reports To: Operations Manager

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a 1-hour unpaid meal break. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
