Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, and optimize CNC programs, tooling layouts, and machining processes for prototype and production components.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to support prototype development and successful production launches.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and part designs to determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and production sequences.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by reducing cycle times, minimizing variability, enhancing tool life, and reducing secondary operations.
  • Create setup documentation, machining instructions, and process control documentation to support production.
  • Train machinists and setup technicians on new or improved machining processes and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, support daily production needs, and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Conduct process audits and continuous improvement activities to enhance quality, productivity, and operational performance while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical coursework, machining certification, or related college training preferred.

Experience Requirements
  • 1-3 years of hands‑on experience in CNC machining, CNC programming, Swiss machining, or precision manufacturing.
  • Experience creating, editing, and optimizing CNC machine programs using G‑Code and M‑Code.
  • Experience setting up tooling, machine parameters, and production processes for prototype and production parts.
  • Previous experience working in a cGMP, ISO‑regulated, medical device, or precision manufacturing environment preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with Citizen CNC Swiss Screw Machines preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tooling selection, machining methods, and process optimization.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and improve cycle times, tool life, and product quality.
  • Experience training machine operators and setup personnel on new processes.
  • Strong project management, communication, and continuous improvement skills.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform detailed machining tasks throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform close visual inspections and read technical documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a climate‑controlled manufacturing environment with moderate industrial noise levels.
