Job summary

Amphenol IPC (AIPC) in Endicott, NY is seeking a Machine Operator to perform CNC/manual machine setups, program edits, and fixture design for parts with tight tolerances. You will work with engineers to improve processes and maintain quality per QMS standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with CNC education preferred, plus strong blueprint reading and measuring tool experience. Local candidates only, on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary CNC education preferred.
• Strong computer application/system knowledge.
• CNC machine operation experience.
• CNC code editing fluency (preferred).
• Mastercam programming experience (preferred).
• GD&T knowledge (preferred).
• High level of blueprint reading required.
• Use of basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity.
• Customer-focused, deadline-driven mindset.
• Interested in learning with engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Setup, program and operation of CNC and/or manual machines.
• Perform minor program edits (G/M code or conversational).
• Design and aid in the fabrication of fixturing for parts of varying complexity.
• Select tooling, and determine appropriate speeds and feeds for close tolerance parts.
• Ability to inspect using general hand tools.
• Operate machines to produce production runs of parts.
• Maintain quality standards through understanding of the Quality Management System.
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
• Orders and/or recommends procurement of tool supplies for use within department.
• Assist with maintenance of machines and other duties as required.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and other staff.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor.
