Qualifications

• 2 years in mechanical/machining trade or equivalent Associate’s degree; or 3 years in heavy duty machining environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of CNC-controls (Siemens 840D preferred) and associated tools.
• Strong math skills (arithmetic, geometry, calculus, statistics) and ability to interpret SPC.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC HELLER machining centers per instructions, routings and blueprints.
• Setup, adjust and run basic and specialized tools for precision machining.
• Check calipers, micrometers, gauges and fixtures; adjust per quality plans.
• Fine-tune tools and optimize CNC program for tool life and collision avoidance.

And it’s your chance to really shine and contribute to one of the world’s most recognized brands and a beacon for engineering excellence.What you will be doingOperate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840 D Controllers according to instructions, routings, control plans, production requirements, plans and diagramsStudy machining instructions, routings, control plans, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional and finish specifications, sequences of operations, complex machine setups, and tooling requirementsSelect the appropriate tools, and materials to be used in preparation of cubic engine componentsSet up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operationsCheck precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, fixed and telescoping gauges, templates and fixtures, and adjust according to quality control plans.Perform fine-tuning of tools/equipment through sample cuts and optimize the CNC program in regard to tool durability, preventing the collision of tools/equipment, program sequencingBasic Requirements:2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate’s Degree; or 3 years of experience in a heavy duty machining environmentIntermediate knowledge of CNC-controls (preferred SIEMENS 840 D Controllers) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceIntermediate knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and their applicationsBasic ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communicationsApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
